Oxtail stew

This is the “low and slow” king of comfort food. Oxtails are full of collagen, so when you simmer them for a few hours, the meat becomes incredibly tender and the sauce turns into a rich, silky gravy.


Southern Style Oxtail Stew

  • 3 pounds Oxtails

  • 1/2 cup Flour (for coating)

  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil

  • 1 large Onion (chopped)

  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)

  • 2 Carrots (sliced into rounds)

  • 2 Celery stalks (chopped)

  • 4 cups Beef Broth

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Tomato Paste

  • 2 Bay Leaves

  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme

  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
