My sister turns to this budget-friendly staple whenever grocery prices climb. With just 3 simple ingredients, you can create something surprisingly flavorful and satisfying.

Place the butter pieces evenly on top—don’t stir yet. This helps it melt slowly and coat the pasta evenly as it cooks.

Step 3: Cook First Round
Cover and cook on HIGH for 45 minutes. Then stir well, making sure nothing is sticking to the sides or bottom.

Step 4: Add the Peas
Stir in the frozen peas, pressing them gently into the hot mixture. If it looks a bit dry, add a small splash of hot water.

Step 5: Finish Cooking
Cover again and cook on HIGH for another 20–30 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until the pasta is tender and the peas are heated through.

Step 6: Let It Set
Switch to WARM, give it a final stir, and taste for seasoning before serving.
