Ingredients
For the Chocolate Ganache:
- 200g dark chocolate (preferably high-quality)
- 1 cup heavy cream
For the Creamy Layer:
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream, chilled
- 2-3 tablespoons powdered sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Garnishes:
- Fresh berries (such as raspberries or strawberries)
- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for dusting
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: Prepare the Chocolate Ganache
- Break the dark chocolate into small pieces and place them in a heatproof bowl.
- In a saucepan, heat the 1 cup of heavy cream over medium heat until it just starts to simmer (do not let it boil).
- Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate in the bowl. Let it sit undisturbed for a minute or two to allow the chocolate to soften.
- Gently stir the mixture with a spatula or whisk until the chocolate is completely melted and the ganache is smooth and glossy.
- Set aside the chocolate ganache to cool slightly while you prepare the creamy layer.
