Heat a skillet over medium heat. Lay the bacon slices flat in the pan and cook until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on a paper towel. 

In the same skillet, crack the eggs and cook to your preference:
Sunny-side-up for a gooey yolk. 
Scrambled for a softer texture.
Season with salt and pepper.
Spread butter on one side of each bread slice. Toast in a clean skillet or toaster until golden brown. 

Layer the lettuce and tomato slices (if using) on one slice of bread. 

Add the bacon, cooked eggs, and cheese (optional) on top.
Drizzle hot sauce if desired, then top with the second slice of bread.
