2. Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Prep the Oven Preheat your oven to 350°F.
-
Mix the Filling In a medium bowl, beat the 3 eggs with a fork. Add the corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir it all together until it is smooth and the sugar has mostly dissolved.
-
Add the Pecans Stir the pecan halves into the mixture.
-
Fill the Crust Pour the entire mixture into your unbaked pie crust.
-
Tip: If you want it to look fancy, you can pour the liquid in first and then hand-arrange the pecans in circles on top.
-
-
Bake Bake at 350°F for 50 to 60 minutes.
-
The Test: The edges should be set and the center should have a slight jiggle (like Jell-O). If it sloshes like water, it needs more time.
-
-
The Cooling Rule (Essential!) You must let the pie cool completely on a wire rack for at least 4 hours. If you cut it while it’s hot, the filling will run all over the plate. It needs time to “set.”
