As I entered my hotel room, something odd was on the desk: A wooden frame, a golden slab at an angle, and a plug. It resembled some amalgam of lamp and art, maybe even clipboard? I had no idea what it was.
And at first, I thought it was just some more abstract hotel decor. Then I leaned in, toggled a couple of switches, from outside lifted up under a top front ledge — and boom. Hidden LED strip. Suddenly, this jumble became a soft, glowing desk light.
So, What Is This Thing?
It is a gold plate hotel lamp with a slant board built in. Basically:
The lamp part? That’s the LED strip on the top that’s casting light downward.
The gold plate? That’s the slanted face that bounces the light back out.
The angle? Ideal for writing, reading, sketching, journaling — anything you like. The light shines in exactly the right places.
No overhead glare. Just a warm, ambient glow on a surface meant to actually be used. Minimalist and cool as hell, way more awesome in person than it appears.
