Chocolate Cake With Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp kosher salt
2 large eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup hot coffee (or hot water)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1–2 tbsp heavy cream (or milk)
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp cocoa powder or chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)
